What is CDM Project
- Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is one of the three flexible mechanisms following the “Kyoto Protocol”. The CDM allows a country with an emission – reduction obligation or committeement under Kyoto protocol to implement an emission – reduction in the developing countries. These CDM Project go a long way in reducing emission of Green House Gases (GHG) which the developed countries can claim as CER (Certified Emission Reduction) credit.
- CDM is the first global enviremental investment project of its kind, providing a standardized emission offset tool, namely CER. For Example, Solar CDM Project night involve a Rural Eectrification Project under Solar Panels.
- India Taken a voluntary Target to reduce 20% of its emission by 2020 considering 2005 as base year.
